Upcoming K-pop releases and comebacks: aespa, TWICE’s Jihyo and more

From newer acts like xikers and BABYMONSTER, to iconic groups like MAMAMOO, K-pop is constantly brimming with new exciting releases. But with so many comebacks on the horizon it can be hard to keep up with all that’s happening in the world of K-pop.

K-POP COMEBACKS IN AUGUST

Hot on the heels of their March debut, KQ Entertainment’s newest boy band xikers are set to return on August 2 with their second mini-album ‘House of Tricky: How To Play’ and dual title tracks ‘Home Boy’ and ‘Do or Die’.

MAMAMOO+

After several single releases, Solar and Moonbyul of MAMAMOO are finally dropping their first mini-album ‘Two Rabbits’ as a sub-unit on August 3. The duo have already unveiled the record’s pre-release single ‘Save Me’.

Somi

Two years after after last release ‘XOXO’, former I.O.I member and soloist Somi is finally set to make a comeback with her new mini-album ‘Game Plan’ and its title track ‘Fast Forward’ on August 7.

STAYC

Half a year after their Valentine’s day single album ‘Teddy Bear’, STAYC‘s agency have confirmed that the girl group are preparing to return with their new mini-album ‘Teenfresh’ on August 16.

TWICE’s Jihyo

South Korean singer Jihyo of K-pop girl group TWICE is set to make her solo debut with her mini-album ‘ZONE’ on August 18, led by its title track ‘Killin’ Me Good’ as previously teased.

Jihyo will be the second member of TWICE to go solo, following Nayeon, who released her debut EP ‘Im Nayeon’ and its lead single ‘POP!’ in June 2022.

aespa will be releasing a new single titled ‘Better Things’ on August 18, just a few months following their third mini-album ‘MY WORLD’.

EVERGLOW

After nearly two years away, Yuehua Entertainment girl group EVERGLOW are set to make a comeback on August 18 with a new single album titled ‘All My Girls’.

H1-KEY

Following their breakthrough single ‘Rose Blossom’ this January, rookie girl group H1-KEY are gearing up to release their second mini-album ‘Seoul Dreaming’ on August 30.

K-POP COMEBACKS IN SEPTEMBER

(G)I-DLE have been on a roll since returning from their year-long hiatus in 2022, spawning hit singles like ‘Tomboy’, ‘Nxde’ and ‘Queencard’, and the quintet are showing no signs of stopping. The girl group will be releasing their first all-English EP ‘Heat’ on September 8 in collaboration with Asian-American label 88rising. Check out their pre-release single ‘I Do’ here.

BABYMONSTER

After a competitive run on the group’s web show Last Evaluation, YG Entertainment has finalised the seven-member lineup for its first girl group since BLACKPINK. The K-pop agency has since shared that BABYMONSTER’s debut is currently aimed for September noting that a “strong hip-hop song” has been chosen for their first single.
