Shortly before Beyoncé dropped her chart-topping record Renaissance, she said the following: “My intention was to create a safe place, a place without judgment. A place to be free of perfectionism and overthinking. A place to scream, release, feel freedom.” After months of experiencing that mythical place solely through Spotify, Beyoncé took the Renaissance show on the road, all the way from Stockholm to Kansas City, grossing nearly half a billion dollars.
