The most stylish music videos of 2022 have been announced

Got any plans in your diary for 27 October? You do? Well, it’s time to clear them, because that’s the very evening when the UK Music Video Awards will be rolling into town! Spotlighting the very best performers, producers, directors, stylists and many more in the music biz, it offers an opportunity to celebrate all of the wonderful audiovisual treats they’ve been putting out over the past year. Obviously, it would be nothing short of cruel to dangle this carrot in front of you, and not give you a hint of what lies in store. As such, we’re thrilled to announce the nominees for this year’s awards – a stellar line-up if ever we’ve seen one.

Leading the field this year is FKA twigs, who’s notched up a whopping eight nominations – five alone of which are for Caprisongs anthem, “Tears in the Club” – while Little Simz and Black Midi have bagged six each. Among the other glitzy names to be walking into the room with multiple nominations are Adele, Arlo Parks, Florence and the Machine, and Gorillaz. 

Of course, a crucial component of any music video worth its production budget is, of course, the FASHION! For the eighth year running, i-D has played a hand in judging this year’s chicest music videos, sponsoring the Best Wardrobe Styling category at this year’s awards. With no further ado, here they are: Stromae – “Fils de Joie”; Kylie Minogue & Jessie Ware – “Kiss of Life”; Sin Bandera – “Nadie”; Sampa The Great – “Never Forget”; Little Simz ft Obongjayar – “Point and Kill”; FKA twigs ft The Weeknd – “Tears in the Club”.
