Filipino singer-songwriter Juan Karlos has released his latest single ‘Kunwari’.

The song arrived yesterday (June 30) on all major streaming platforms via Island Records Philippines. On this folk-pop tune, Karlos sings about the three forces of attention, tension and pretense, especially on the chorus:  “Pwede bang kunwari / Ika’y may pag-ibig sa akin / Pwede bang sabihin / Ko na ikaw ay akin?” – “Can we pretend / That you love me / Can I say / That you are mine?

Karlos revealed on Instagram that the song came together in a span of just a few days. “No plans, no intentions. From me, with love,” he wrote.

The singer also launched a visualiser for the single, which appears to show Karlos trying different mundane ways of coping with sadness, from playing the guitar to escaping to nature in his motorbike.

‘Kunwari’ follows his three-song collection ‘Drop 1’, released in March. The record carries the songs ‘Buksan’, ‘Aminin’ and a collaboration with Janine Berdin called ‘Pancit’.

Apart from music, Karlos is also making his acting comeback via the film Blue Room, an entry to this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival in August.
