Singaporean artists Charlie Lim and KEYANA have dropped an intimate new single, ‘Trade My Heart’.

Featuring gentle acoustic guitars and soulful R&B grooves, the track is a lovelorn ballad dedicated to longing for one’s partner. “Now that I’ve found the one, you’re more than mystery / Come like the way the truth don’t change / You know you’re all I need”, both vocalists sing on the chorus. The duo co-wrote the lyrics with rapper ABANGSAPAU.

The ballad was released by The Great Wave, an artist collective DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) established by Lim to aid artists in the Web3 space.

“We want to help fund projects, incentivise collaboration and build a more flexible, sustainable and transparent model for artists and our fans – where having a stake in the collective means sharing in its success together,” Lim previously said of the service. ‘Trade My Heart’ follows three collaborative singles the Singaporean singer-songwriter was involved with last year: ‘So I Say What’s Up’ with Singaporean hip-hop icon Sheikh Haikel, ‘Won’t You Come Around’ with R&B artist Aisyah Aziz, and ‘Forgetting’, with Melbourne producer Katz.

Earlier in January, Lim also guested on ‘Trade My Heart’ collaborator ABANGSAPAU’s single ‘Boyhood’, which was the rapper’s second single with Def Jam Southeast Asia since signing with the label in 2021.

In April, Lim released an intimate performance video titled ‘Live At The Conservatory’, which was also released as a live album. This September, the singer-songwriter is slated to perform at the Esplanade Concert Hall with his band the Mothership as part of the Esplanade’s PopLore series.

Meanwhile, KEYANA’s most recent release was the single ‘Afterglow’, which she dropped last October. The track marks the first cut taken from her upcoming debut album, which has yet to receive a title.

The Ghanian-Singaporean R&B singer – real name Melanie Kasise – previously opened Lim’s 2020 performance at Marina Bay Sands, ‘Back To Live’, which marked one of the first concerts in Singapore following the city-state’s loosening of COVID-19 restrictions.
