Black Sherif wins Artiste of The Year at 24th VGMAs

At the 24th annual Vodafone Ghana Music Awards ceremony, which took place in Accra, the title of Artiste of the Year was awarded to Mohammed Ismail Sharrif, better known by his stage name, Black Sherif.
The event was held in the Accra International Conference Center (AICC), and, as is customary, it drew a sizable number of participants from the relevant industry.
Even though there was a fierce competition from Piesie Esther in the same category, it was abundantly evident that Black Sherif was the most deserving candidate for the award.
The crowd erupted in applause and shouts as it was revealed that he had won the award for the evening’s most prestigious prize, and he was presented with the trophy.

The up-and-coming musician, who is better known by his stage name Blacko, has had a remarkable year, with his hit singles and album topping charts all over the country and making ripples internationally.
His one-of-a-kind sound and style, which incorporate elements of hip-life, high-life, and afrobeat, have endeared him to a large number of devoted followers.
Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, and Joe Mettle were some of the other artists that were in the running for the prize in addition to Piesie Esther.
