“Las Vegas police have arrested someone in connection with the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur.
Duane ‘Keefe D’ Davis was taken into custody on Friday morning, though the exact charges remain unclear. Davis has spoken openly about being at the scene of the drive-by shooting 27 years ago. A Netflix documentary previously named Davis’ nephew as the shooter, despite the gangster bragging about killing Tupac in September 1996, in books and interviews. The Compton Crip gang leader, 60, even wrote a memoir confessing to his role in the fatal shooting of the hip-hop legend. He claimed in the 2018 documentary that he was riding in the car with his nephew Orlando Anderson and handed him the murder weapon before he fired. Shakur was 25 when he was gunned down on the Vegas strip, with Davis writing in his 2019 tell-all memoir ‘Compton Street Legend,’ that he was in the Cadillac involved in the shooting. In the book, he said that he told authorities about his involvement in the killing in 2010, during a closed-door meeting with federal and local authorities. ‘They promised they would shred the indictment and stop the grand jury if I helped them out,’ he wrote. At the time, he was 46 and facing life in prison on drug charges when he agreed to speak with the authorities. Two teens from Las Vegas have been arrested and are facing murder charges in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of 64-year-old Andreas ?Andy? Probst, a retired chief of police for the city of Bell, as he was riding his bike in a residential area of Las Vegas last month. The incident, which authorities at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are calling intentional, occurred on Aug. 14 near Tenaya Way and Centennial Parkway in a neighborhood community approximately 16 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Officers arrived at the scene just after 6 a.m. and found the 64-year-old cyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. Probst was taken to UMC Trauma where he later died of his injuries. On Aug. 31, detectives located the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run and identified the 17-year-old male teenage driver. He was arrested and booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall. “A 17-year-old boy faces open murder charges nearly two weeks after he allegedly hit and killed a bicyclist in the northwest Las Vegas valley.
On August 14 around 6 p.m., Metro police responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash near Tenaya Way and Centennial Parkway. When officers arrived they found a 64-year-old bicyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. Evidence at the scene and witness statements showed that the victim was riding a bicycle northbound on Tenaya when a Hyundai, driving at a presumed high speed, intentionally hit the bicyclist from behind. The driver then left the scene, police said. Police later found and arrested the 17-year-old driver of the Hyundai and determined that the car was stolen and that he was fleeing a separate hit-and-run crash. The driver was also involved with several other vehicle thefts throughout the morning, police said. On Aug. 29, LVMPD detectives found a social media video of the hit-and-run crash and determined that it was an intentional act. Metro homicide detectives took over the investigation and will amend the 17-year-old?s charges to include open murder, police said. A Las Vegas man was charged with murder after authorities said he rapped about a 2021 killing in a song released this summer. Kenjuan McDaniel, 25, was arrested Aug. 29 in connection with a homicide that occurred in September 2021, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a release. The victim, identified by several outlets as Randall Wallace, 32, was found shot to death in an apartment complex. “The Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting that the rapper (real name Cordarius Dorsey) has been found guilty in the murder of Xavier Arlandor Turner in January of 2020, which was caught on camera. The video evidence of Polo shooting and killing Turner at Old National Village Discount Mall in College Park, Ga., according to the outlet, was the key evidence in securing the conviction.
YSL Polo has already been sentenced to life in prison in a separate murder, which he participated in back in 2019. He has already been denied parole in that case. It is unclear what sort of sentence YSL Polo will face for the Turner murder now that he has been convicted, but prosecutors are expected to ask for yet another life sentence.
