Two teens from Las Vegas have been arrested and are facing murder charges in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of 64-year-old Andreas ?Andy? Probst, a retired chief of police for the city of Bell, as he was riding his bike in a residential area of Las Vegas last month. The incident, which authorities at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department are calling intentional, occurred on Aug. 14 near Tenaya Way and Centennial Parkway in a neighborhood community approximately 16 miles from the Las Vegas Strip. Officers arrived at the scene just after 6 a.m. and found the 64-year-old cyclist suffering from life-threatening injuries. Probst was taken to UMC Trauma where he later died of his injuries. On Aug. 31, detectives located the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run and identified the 17-year-old male teenage driver. He was arrested and booked into Clark County Juvenile Hall. Dayton Public Schools officials fired a staff member for physically assaulting a nonverbal and autistic 3-year-old who attends Rosa Park Early Learning Center. The employee in the video hit the child so hard it caused him to smack the ground then he proceeded to pick him up by his feet and carry him upside down.
The child?s parents notified authorities on August 21st and are demanding for immediate action to take place. The boy?s father, Robert Tootle, claims when he went to pick his child up he wasn?t told the full story of what went down. but was later informed by Child Protective Services of the details seen in the video given to the family on Sept. 11. ?It just made me mad,? Tootle explained to WHIO TV 7. Tootle and Taneshia Lindsay, the boy?s mother, and their attorney, Michael Wright are trying to figure out why an arrest hasn?t been made yet. ?They shouldn?t have sent him home pending investigation. Officer Daniel Auderer was responding to an incident where Jaahnavi Kandula, 23, was killed near her university. In the video, the officer is heard suggesting the Indian student’s life had “limited value” and the city should “just write a check”. The officer has said his comments were taken out of context. A teenage suspect was arrested in the shooting of a security guard who was blasted in the head while breaking up a fight at a high school football game in New York over the weekend, police announced. The suspect, a 16-year-old boy, turned himself in to police Sunday after he was identified through numerous videos of the shooting at Thomas R. Proctor High School, the Utica Police Department said. Police said the teen was not a student at the Utica high school but was enrolled in ?an alternative educational program.? His name has not been released as he is underage, and police said they seeking to prosecute him as an adult. The teenager faces charges of attempted murder in the second degree, along with several weapons offenses. Police said other individuals may also be charged in the incident. The shooting happened just after 4 p.m. on Saturday after a group had been turned away from the varsity football game against nearby Binghamton High School. The group of about a dozen people began brawling outside the football field and a pair of security guards rushed in to intervene, footage from the incident showed. Two shots then rang out, and one of the guards collapsed to the ground with a gunshot wound to the back of the head, cops said.
