ARTJOG Returns To Yogyakarta

Written by on 12/07/2022

ARTJOG – 7 July to 4 September – returns to the Jogja National Museum with its offline format. This year, ARTJOG showcases the work of 61 individual and group artists covering a comprehensive educational program.

Carrying the title Expanding Awareness, this year’s edition is the estuary of the ARTJOG arts-in-common series which has been held since 2019. It centers around the thematic triplets of ‘space’ ‘time’ and ‘awareness’.

The idea of expanding consciousness is an entry point, not only to reflect on things that are happening and actual conditions today but also to understand what has not happened and still needs to be worked on in the future.

“We believe that through art, the expansion of consciousness is possible occurs not through a didactic, linear, and unidirectional process, but accumulatively and reciprocity between the works of artists and audiences, so that the awareness of inclusiveness that we voice can also have a broad impact, beyond the world of art,” said Agung Hujatnikajennong, the curator of ARTJOG.
