Jepsen will join previously announced headliners including French pop band Phoenix,  London-based Filipino singer No Rome and South Korean collective Balming Tiger, with the lineup also featuring IV of Spades’ BLASTER and Sunset Rollercoaster, Leo Wang, Men I Trust and Stephen Day. The festival is currently set to take place on March 4 and 5 at the Filinvest City Event Grounds in Alabang, Metro Manila for its eighth edition and first since 2019.

The exact dates the artists will perform on have also not been disclosed as of the time of writing.

Passes for the 2023 festival have yet to go on sale, though it has been confirmed that those still holding tickets for postponed 2020 edition will have their tickets honoured at the March event.

Wanderland Festival last took place between 9 and 10 March 2019 at the Filinvest City Event Grounds in Alabang, Metro Manila. It was headlined by Two Door Cinema Club and The Kooks, and also featured a diverse range of regional and international acts such as Honne, SG Lewis, Clairo, Adoy, Mac Ayres, Charlie Lim and Clara Benin.

The festival was initially scheduled to return in 2020 between 7 and 8 March, but was eventually postponed as the COVID-19 pandemic maintained health concerns and prompted multiple artists to withdraw.

Phoenix most recently released their latest album, ‘Alpha Zulu’, on November 4. In a four-star review of the album NME said: “‘Alpha Zulu’ refuses to stand on ceremony with their surroundings; they appreciate the scale, but never abandon their character. It’s like wandering the halls of the band’s own personal gallery, a stroll through time, and a chance to see some of their most glistening pieces yet up close.”

No Rome’s long-awaited debut album ‘It’s All Smiles’ was released in December last year. The 10-track album showcases the confessional stylings of No Rome’s signature “shoegaze R&B”, garnering a four-star review from NME. Rhian Daly wrote, “It might have taken a while to get to us, but an album with that effect is often worth the wait; Rome’s debut most certainly is.”

Balming Tiger released their new collaborative single ‘Sexy Nukim’ with BTS rapper RM earlier this year on September 1. The single, which is the first track from Balming Tiger to feature another artist, was also RM’s first solo endeavour since BTS announced in June that they would be “[taking] time to explore some solo projects” instead of focusing on group activities.

Blaster Silonga, who now goes just by BLASTER, released his sophomore album ‘My Kosmik Island Disk’ on October 8. BLASTER has previously shared that the album tackles “some cosmic themes”, adding that the music was inspired by mecha anime such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and space movies. “It’s gonna be a really, really personal and selfish album. It’s gonna be that album where I’m just talking about my personal experiences,” he concluded.

The phase 1 lineup for Wanderland 2023 is:

Carly Rae Jepsen
Phoenix

Men I Trust
No Rome
Balming Tiger
Stephen Day
Leo Wang
BLASTER
Sunset Rollercoaster
George
August Wahh
The Sundown
