Runtown – Things I Know Runtown ends his protracted absence to give his fans and listeners a brand-new song in preparation for his upcoming long-length studio project. The last time he released a solo track was in December 2020 with “If E Happen For Lagos,” despite the fact that he has collaborated on other songs, including Darkovibes’ “Understanding Love” and Jay Moore’s pop remix of “Rewind.” Runtown has returned after two years, and he has a body of work with him this time. The American premiere of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which was produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore, takes place on November 11, 2022. With the most plays and listeners ever in a single day, “Lift Me Up,” the lead single from Rihanna, made history as the most-added song in U.S. radio history. Over 40 international artists recorded songs for The Black Panther: Wakanda Forever – Music From and Inspired By soundtrack in Lagos, Nigeria, Mexico City, London, and Los Angeles. Rihanna, Burna Boy, Rema, Tems, Fireboy DML, OG DAYV, Future, CKay, PinkPantheress, E-40, and many more are among the featured musicians. The score and the original songs on the soundtrack were written and produced by Oscar, Grammy, and two Emmy winner Ludwig Göransson. He was particularly prepared to oversee all sections of the soundscape due to his significant experience working as a producer of musicians (Childish Gambino, Adele, Haim, Justin Timberlake), as well as scoring movies and TV shows (Black Panther, Creed, The Mandalorian). The two artists have discussed this approach since their days at USC Film School and finally made it a reality with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Coogler and Göransson set out to create an innovative soundscape where Göransson says, “The songs and score are one” for their fourth cinematic collaboration. Over 2500 hours were spent by Göransson in what turned out to be a major labor of love, involving six studios, three continents, and five different countries. The audience will hear more than 250 musicians, two orchestras, two choirs, and more than 40 vocalists throughout the entire movie. From co-writing the lyrics for the Rihanna song “Lift Me Up” to suggesting Tems, a Nigerian singer/songwriter, perform a cover of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” and bridging it with Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” for the movie’s instantly popular trailer, Coogler was heavily involved in the creation of the soundtrack for the movie. Göransson said, “Ryan and I talked about the importance of creating an immersive journey of sound and voice. If we used a song in the film, we wanted it to be the entire song, and to be connected to the story. Thematically, we wanted to move the audience from grief to celebration. When you listen to the soundtrack, you can close your eyes and relive the experience of the movie. That was the intention.” Recording sessions were organized in Lagos, Nigeria, Mexico City, and Abbey Road Studios in London because the plot is influenced by Mesoamerican and Nigerian traditions. Producers collaborated with well-known musicians from Lagos, including Tems, who is now a center for musical creativity. The soundtrack also includes work from up-and-coming rappers and musicians from Mexico City, such as the Mayan-only rapper Pat Boy. In Mexico City, Göransson collaborated closely with musicologist Alejandro Rojas to investigate and study Mayan music. The soundscape’s composition included instruments from Mesoamerican and Nigerian civilizations. Kuami Eugene – Single What happened to the once-vibrant Kuami Eugene this year has many people curious. The award-winning singer-songwriter and producer from Ghana hasn’t released much music this year compared to prior years. There were rumors that he was having issues with Lynx Entertainment, his record label. In a tweet posted by Kuami Eugene, he made it clear that he has been trying to leave the label but has repeatedly been turned down. Shortly after sending that tweet, he was introduced as a new signee of the American record label EMPIRE, which also houses artists like KiDi, his Lynx Entertainment labelmate, Fireboy DML, Asake, Black Sherif, and others. Kuami Eugene launches his new voyage with EMPIRE by releasing his second song of 2022, which is titled “Single.” This is a follow-up to his well-known hit song “Take Away,” which started Kuami off on the right foot in 2022. Yaw Tog – Aso)den Asakaa poster boy  Yaw Tog continues this year’s strong performance with another release. This year, the Ghanaian rapper has given us quite a few hits, with “Sophia” being the most recent. He aims to continue on this path with Aso)den, a drill number laced with Adowa drums and percussions. Yaw Tog teased this song on social media prior to its release, and it gained a lot of attention. These indicate that the song will be a commercial hit. RnB Princess ft. Brum3h – Let Me In Weaving comprehensive stories with simple lyrics into easily understood pieces of work RnB Princess had her fans on the edge of their seats with the release of “Perfect Girl” featuring Misterkay. Once again RnB Princess proved her knack for storytelling against a percussive backdrop and refined guitar strings. “ Nothing is making sense though, I don’t see the glow in your eyes” RnB Princess sings as she expresses concern about fading love as her muse is still entangled with their past love. Today the indie artist releases her anticipated project ‘Becoming.’ The 6-track project sees RnB Princess explore the landscape of love with various challenges. “Oh My Love” is an ode to all lovers who are unable to lay out their romantic expectations. Serving as the perfect introduction to the album she expresses her impatience while her crisp vocals draw you in into her utopia where love rules. The soulful R&B-influenced “Mine” shows the raunchy side of RnB Princess as she is determined to keep her lover. Horning her music skills for years. Inviting Brum3h to assist her with “Let Me In” the slightly upbeat tempo and undeniable chemistry between the two provide a groovy canvas to write their love story.
