Coldplay tease collaboration with BTS’ Jin through brief snippet of ‘The Astronaut’

Coldplay has teased their forthcoming collaboration with BTS‘ Jin through a brief snippet of ‘The Astronaut’.

Earlier today (October 27), the British band took to their official Twitter page to tease their collaboration with BTS member Jin on his forthcoming solo debut with the single ‘The Astronaut’.

The 30-second clip features a video of the audio file for the new song, as it plays an isolated backing track of what appears to be Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s harmonisations. It comes just a day ahead of its official release tomorrow (October 28) at 1pm KST.

“When I’m with you, there is no one else / I get heaven to myself when I’m with you,” Martin is heard singing.

Big Hit Music announced last week that ‘The Astronaut’ was co-written by both Jin and Coldplay, confirming a previous report from MBN. The new track will thus mark the second time the K-pop boyband have joined forces with the British four-piece – they last teamed up on the latter’s 2021 song ‘My Universe’.

The music label also previously shared a preview of the physical copies of ‘The Astronaut’ to the boyband’s Weverse page. In the preview for the lyric card included in the physical album, Kygo and Max Martin were credited as co-producers on ‘The Astronaut’, on top of Coldplay members, including Chris Martin.

Hours after ‘The Astronaut”s scheduled release, Jin is set to perform the new song alongside Coldplay at the band’s forthcoming concert in Buenos Aires, Argentina, set to be held on October 28 at 7pm ET. The performance will also be broadcast live in over 3,500 cinemas across more than 75 countries/regions.

As soon as he wraps up promotional activities for ‘The Astronaut’, Jin is due to be the first BTS member to enlist for mandatory military service, per an announcement from Big Hit Music on October 17. It also mentioned that the boyband have plans to reconvene at full strength by 2025.
