Black Sherif is Ghana’s fast rising superstar who has been making waves for a while now, even though many of us got introduced to him when ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ went viral on Tiktok a few months ago. Black Sherif has been cementing himself as a one-of-a-kind artist ready to rise all the way to the top.
Black Sherif announced the release of his long awaited debut album via Social Media. The title of the album is ‘The Villain I Never Was’ and it is set to be released on the 6th of October 2022. ‘Kwaku The Traveller’ and ‘Second Sermon (Remix)’ featuring Burna Boy are two of the songs we know that are in the upcoming album. There is a new song titled ‘Soja’ from the album as well, that he released on the 22nd of September and unlike the other two songs this new offering is slower paced and its intensity, timbre, and pitch are on a medium level.

It took me everything to give life to this body. The one thing in my life that I gave everything up for.
There is life in this body, I hope it treats you good and speaks to you like I want it to. My debut album, “The Villain I Never Was”.

‘Soja’ is about his journey as a musical artist. He talks about how far he comes from and how close he is to reaching and fulfilling his dreams, “My mystery box is somewhere very near, I feel it inside me, I’m feeling very weird” he sings in a melodic and emotive tone on the first verse and “I’m too close I can feel it, Something is vibrating, Inside me, I’m celebrating” on the second verse. Listen to ‘Soja’ below.
