Tencent Music Entertainment Award

Tencent Music Entertainment Group, last month, has successfully closed its third annual Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA) ceremony.

Leading online music and audio entertainment platform in China, the award ceremony was held at The Venetian Macao on December 11, last year. A ceremony that was live-streamed on Tencent Music’s platforms: QQ Music, Kugou Music, Kuwo Music, and WeSing.

Themed “3ing For Music,” this year’s TMEA sought to engage the audience with music as the world continued to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The ceremony provided an online/offline music entertainment experience through its innovative live performance platform, TME Live.

Chinese singer Leezi sang a heartfelt ballad As An Introvert, while Ann Bai a Taiwanese singer-songwriter performed her hit What Brings Me To You. Other performances during the night include those by Taiwanese singer-songwriters Jay Chou, Rene Liu, and rock band Mayday. Participated by over 46 singers, musicians and bands alongside emerging singers from the Tencent Musician Program, the show saw a variety of songs performed across thirty-one stage sets.

This year, TMEA partnered with Weibo and Sina in order to open up access to this music carnival. Merging collaboration with colleagues from within the Tencent ecosystem including WeChat Video Accounts, WeChat Search, and Tencent Video to increase exposure. And received a popular viewership through Weibo, Douyin, and Bilibili.

Besides spectacular music performances, over forty awards were announced for domestic and international singer-songwriters, singers, music groups, songs, concerts, and entertainment charity projects to recognize their efforts contributing to the music industry.

Tencent Music Entertainment Group (TME) holistic approach of services includes online music, online karaoke, and music live streaming. It is also perhaps one of the leaders in the world already investing in a metaverse-like community for music fans to discover, listen, sing, watch, perform and socialize around music.
